Three key project team members (of the VWData project “Responsible Collection and Analysis of Personal Data for Justice and Security“) were recently interviewed for “JenV Data Magazine (1) 2018” of the Ministry of Justice and Security:
- Remco Boersma (Ministry of Justice and Security): “Living Lab en Competence netwerk“, pages 8-9;
- Ibo van de Poel (Delft University of Technology) and Marc Steen (TNO): “Verantwoorde Waardecreatie Big Data“, pages 32-35.
In addition, two op-eds were published in Dutch newspapers in June, in which Marc Steen (TNO) advocates making algorithms more transparent (focus of the project) and taking a careful look at the role of Artificial Intelligence:”
- “Wees op je hoede, want ook algoritmen maken fouten“, in Trouw, 23 June 2018, page 27. Translated into English: Algorithms also make mistakes;
- “Trek op tijd de stekker uit alledaagse artificiële intelligentie“, in De Volkskrant, 28 juni 2018, page 24. Translated into English: Find the plugs of your robots.
